Time to check out the latest IN FLUX project located at Postino East featuring the work of local fiber artist, Ann Morton. She has previously participated a couple years back with an Influx project in Chandler. She has created a work of art displayed outside of Postino East in downtown Gilbert. Many may be aware of Morton with her recent project "Ground Cover," that she did in Phoenix, utilizing 300 volunteer made blankets made by volunteers that when out together resulted in a beautiful image of red and orange desert blooms. "IN FLUX brings together art, economic development, and property management organizations throughout the greater Phoenix area to provide opportunities for Arizona artists to create site-specific temporary public art installations in a wide variety of locations." Next venture to Art intersection, their focus is to "encourage creative individuals to take their work to the next level through programs and facilities in which they learn, create and exhibit. We embrace and promote the intersection of photography with related art forms as we foster imaginative and innovative approaches to serving our community in the pursuit of this vision." They offer monthly exhibitions, classes, lectures, and more. Currently featuring the exhibition "Home Bound” on view until February 28th, showcasing the work of eight artists. These artists utilize photography "to reveal their personal perspectives on home; home is inextricably connected to family and memory, but can also relate to loss or appreciation." Art Intersection is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm and is located at 207 N. Gilbert Road, Suite 201, Gilbert. Finally it time to enjoy the Gilbert Art Walk, their season runs from October through March on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 9 am till 1 pm. The Gilbert art walk is located at Water Tower Plaza, 45 W. Page Ave Gilbert in downtown Gilbert. Admission and parking for this great event is free to the public! The Gilbert Art Walk is juried featuring a great selection of artists that work in diverse mediums offering patrons the opportunity to enjoy painting, sculpture, collage, photography, conceptual art, printmaking, jewelry, and more.
