The latest scandal in the Amy's Baking Co. saga and why some people in the Jewish community are reacting.

Samy and Amy Bouzaglo who rose to infamous heights after they bullied their customers and employees on FOX's reality show "Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares", say that the FBI is investigating their claims of someone hacking into their Facebook. Yes, the owners of Amy's Baking Company in Scottsdale, Arizona, claim someone else posted the outrageous responses to the venomous reviews of their restaurant. The Facebook postings went viral resulting in a nationwide social-media frenzy against the couple.

However, it seems Samy may have been on the FBI's radar for at least two years! (Not to mention that wife Amy has served time in prison for bank fraud in Arizona for  taking out a $15,000 line of credit at M & I Bank using someone else's social security number. )

Samy, 63, who has Israeli citizenship may be under investigation for not disclosing his criminal past on his U.S. immigration petition, and it also seems the United States government has been trying to revoke his U.S. residency status. Reportedly Samy was born in Morocco and may have been banned from both France and Germany.

Due to the fact that Samy is an Israeli citizen, several people in the Jewish community in the Phoenix area have been whispering about the many rumors regarding the couple.

Some of them point out that this entire situation is very sad and they hope the negative publicity doesn't cast a light on other Israeli citizens living in the United States.

A Scottsdale resident who is visiting Israel emailed me about having dinner with a group of native Israeli friends IN ISRAEL. "They asked me if I knew the Israeli restaurateur who alienated his customers and mistreated employees," he said. " My Israeli dinner companions IN ISRAEL had never even been to Amy' s Bakery, let alone Phoenix, or Scottsdale!"

An acquaintance of Samy and Amy's commented to me that he did know about the couple's "troubled" past - but, he said to me, "that was in the past."

Don't try telling that to the servers who worked at Amy's Baking Co. and accuse the couple of "stealing" their tips. Stay tuned.
