Kathy's scoop on the exciting fundraiser....

 Arizona Cardinals superstar  Larry Fitzgerald will be donning an apron with several of his teammates and waiting on tables at Morton's The Steakhouse in Scottsdale  for the Larry Fitzgerald Celebrity Server Event  on Oct. 3, 2011. Yes, Larry and some of his athlete friends will be helping to serve up the evening's four-course dinner and fine wine pairings. 

The event will raise funds and awareness for his foundation, the Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Fund, named for Larry’s beloved mother who he lost to breast cancer; and the Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund.

The Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Fund was set up in memory of Larry’s mother, who throughout her career as a state worker in Minnesota helped victims of AIDS, breast cancer and other diseases. This fund’s proceeds continue her work, and the Carol Fitzgerald Memorial Foundation also supports the education of urban youth.

The Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund was established to support children and their families. It has given money for computer equipment, vision care, and other activities to support youth.

 In past years, Larry’s teammates who have turned out for the event, have included Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt, Kurt Warner and many of the Cardinals players and Larry's friend -former Arizona Diamondbacks player Luis Gonzalez.

 Tickets for the cocktail party, dinner,  a live and silent auction are $500 per person if still available.Reservations can be made by calling Morton’s The Steakhouse in Scottsdale at 480.951.4440.
