Kathy’s scoop on the VIP’s and pink warriors at the big bash..

It was the first major “sneak peek” of Banner MD Anderson’s Cancer Center and the celebration was 600 people strong. The remarkable evening on the Banner Gateway Medical Center campus was an emotionally significant one- spotlighting women who are fighting and surviving cancer.

In addition to the poignant fashion show featuring 10 cancer survivors in Coldwater Creek fashions- country western singer/songwriter Candy Coburn took to the stage for an enlightening concert– particularly with her energizing performance of “Pink Warrior”.

It was the theme song for the 2010 Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure® which Candy co-wrote in memory of her grandmother Tucker who fought breast cancer for ten years. It’s an anthem for the millions of women and families who have or will be touched by breast cancer.

“I wrote the song with some of the most amazing killer chick song writers in Nashville,” said  Candy of songwriters Kaci Bolls, Candy Cameron and Roxie Dean. One hundred percent of the artist and producer proceeds from sales of the song are donated to Komen, and Candy is a celebrity ambassador for Susan G. Komen.
