On Saturday, August 17, Arizona Diamondbacks players Nick Ahmed, Luke Weaver, Steven Souza Jr. and Archie Bradley joined together at Chase field to give a small group of fans a unique fantasy football draft experience, all while raising funds to benefit various nonprofits. All proceeds raised go to Consider the Lily's efforts to build a new home for sex-trafficking survivors in the Philippines, D-Backs Give, the Phoenix Rescue Mission, Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, building a community center in the Dominican Republic through Striking Out Poverty, and Big League Impact Global Initiatives. Guided by Ahmed and Souza, attendees were given a one-of-a-kind tour of the underground clubhouse, locker room, physical therapy facilities, dugout, kitchen and private batting cages. The fans even got a chance to sit in the team’s coveted massage chairs! Attendees threw on the field, participated in a competitive, live football fantasy draft directly with the players, listened to the players speak about their charitable initiatives and took the field for batting practice, then wrapped up the night watching the Diamondbacks take on the San Francisco Giants. https://www.fh.org/sports/striking-out-poverty/
