The 27th Annual Motel 6 Cactus Bowl football game, between West Virginia and the ASU Sun Devils, was played before 40,000 college football fans at Chase Field on Saturday, January 2. The event opened with marching bands and cheerleading, followed by skydivers cascading through the open roof of the stadium. The game had eight lead changes; the most in Cactus Bowl history. West Viriginia won 43 to 42.
