Sep. 10, 2014 at Tempe Beach Park. Tempe honored the nearly 3,000 victims of the September 11, 2001, with its 11th annual Healing Field tribute. The public was invited to view the display of American Flags representing the victims of that terrible day. A moving display of patriotism and unity, Healing Field is a free event presented by the Exchange Club of Tempe and The City of Tempe. Tempe's Healing Field has 2,977 American Flags flying in it to represent the victims. A biography card is attached to each flag, which contains the name of the victim, as well as a brief history of their life.
