Almost There Foster Care celebrated their third annual Imagine: A Black and White Affair at the beautiful Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix. Nearly 400 people dressed to impress in their black and white cocktail party attire on Saturday, Nov. 2, raising $103,000 for Almost There Foster Care (ATFC) and Community Canine Project (CCP) to directly help the homeless dogs of Arizona. This year’s event was chaired by Geri Hormel, Annie Barlow and Kim French, and included hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, champagne, black and white portraits, live music and adorable puppies. In addition, there were several fun activities and opportunities to raise the much-needed funds including a raffle, silent auction, wine pull and mystery gift station. “I thought this year’s event was wonderful! A huge thanks to our photographers who graciously donated their time and to our volunteers because this wouldn’t have been possible without them,” said Geri Hormel, founder of Almost There Foster Care. The event was sponsored by SJS Investment Services, Snell & Wilmer, The Wrigley Mansion, Bill Herf, Two Pups Wellness Fund, Sherman & Howard, Sky Sanctuary, Schultz Development and SX Paint + Resurfacing. "This fundraising is a huge help as we get ready for our big move to our new facility,” added Hormel. “We will be launching our capital campaign soon. If anyone is interested in more info on that they can email us at info@atfcaz.org or give us a call at (602) 912-0064. There will be many fun naming opportunities!” Founded in 2013, ATFC is nonprofit dedicated to providing loving care and a comfortable space to homeless large-breed pregnant dogs and their pups who need time and space to grow and become socialized as they search to find their forever homes. To learn more, visit www.atfcaz.org Founded in 2018, CCP is a volunteer-run organization based in Maricopa County. CCP was created as a way for a dedicated group of individuals to come together and provide support to our municipal shelters and comfort to the dogs within them through in-shelter enrichment, day-fostering + group dog walks, play groups, photography, networking and much more.
