Picture information

Feb. 15, 2018. The renowned interior and furnishings designer and top-selling author, Julia Buckingham, celebrated the opening of her new Uptown Plaza retail storefront on Thursday, February 15. Modernique is Buckingham's first retail space and features unique furniture, decorative lighting, textiles, wall coverings, accessories and gift items. The wares boast her eclectic interior design style that merges "modern" and "antique," which is how her store name and book title "Modernique" was created. The grand opening event brought the local design industry together to celebrate Buckingham's retail debut in the Valley. The interior designer has worked out of her Chicago design studio, Buckingham Interiors + Design Ltd, since 2007, and Buckingham and her husband now split their time between Phoenix and Chicago.
