Picture information

A New Leaf’s Teed Off at Domestic Violence inaugural golf tournament at TopGolf Scottsdale at Riverwalk brought in over $30,000 on October 23, 2015. Funds raised at the tournament benefit the critical services provided through A New Leaf’s homeless and domestic violence shelters. A New Leaf provides Arizona’s oldest operating domestic violence shelter, Faith House in Glendale, and a large domestic violence shelter in the East Valley, Autumn House, located in Mesa. Besides emergency shelter, A New Leaf provides transitional housing, childcare, workforce training, and basic needs for survivors of domestic violence. Special guests from Shutterfly presented the donation that was made on the Ellen DeGeneres show to A New Leaf personally, while guests took selfies with the ladies from ASU’s Alpha Chi Omega who made the donation possible. Arizona State University was also among of the many event sponsors and lent the pep to the event by bringing ASU’s Spirit Squad with them. Event highlights were the “Clothesline Project” and the “In Her Shoes” walk through, in which guests were able to experience what a victim of domestic violence goes through and the difficult choices made to escape abuse. Entertainment was provided by Kyle Sorrell and Efrain Urias added a Scottish flare to the event with his bagpipes. Event sponsors were: National Equity Fund, Scottsdale Insurance Company, Candelaria Design, Trust Bank, Mobile Mini, Athletico, and Arizona State University. Underwriting Sponsors were: Chasse Building Team, Architectural Resource Team and Lyft Fund. Grand Prize raffle prize of a $4K resort stay was provided by International Cruise Excursions, Inc.
