May 3, 2014. Free Comic Book Day is a single day - the first Saturday in May each year - when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE to anyone who comes into their stores. Pop Culture Paradise Comics and Games in Tempe added to this annual event by incorporating a food drive for St. Vincent DePaul. They also had guest creators on site to create original art and signing of existing material. Guest creators included Anabel Martinez, April Reyna, Denae Frazier, Derrick Tipton, Ethan Scott, Heather Martin, Jason Washington, Jean Arrow, Jean-Paul Manzanares, Jessica C. Feinberg, Jolene Houser, Justin Miller, Kip Mussatt, Len Simon, Marc Mason, Mark Greenawalt, Meghan O'Connell, Rob Hicks, Ruben Rosas, Ryan Comstock-McMurry, Todd VanHoooser, Wayne Gardiner, and Zoe Sugg.
