California Charlie Looking for Forever Home in Arizona!

As the state's designated first responder for pets during natural disasters, the Arizona Humane Society is no stranger to helping pets in need during times of distress. For Charlie, and 20 other pups just like him, AHS answering the call to help dogs displaced during the ongoing fires in Southern California was a no brainer.

Handsome Charlie is an adorable one-year-old German Shepherd Mix that was transferred to AHS last week from Los Angeles Animal Services to help make lifesaving kennel space in their shelter. By doing this, more pets displaced by the wildfires will have a safe space to go if their families are unable to take them when evacuating or if they become lost.

Thanks to the combined efforts of Petco Love, Wings of Rescue and AHS, almost two dozen pets are now safe here in Arizona. While a few have already found their forever homes and others are receiving care in AHS' trauma hospital, this is a true testament of how working together helps saves the lives of even more homeless pets with nowhere else to go.

Interested adopters can meet cuddly Charlie at AHS' Sunnyslope Campus location. Charlie's adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip, and a follow-up wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital.
