Meet Ellie, an adorable 10-year-old domestic shorthair cat currently under the loving care of the Arizona Humane Society, where she has been for nearly three months. This sweet senior was surrendered by her family in September when they were unable to take her along in a move.

Although she can be a bit shy at first, this independent kitty allows all handling but would prefer to keep her free-spirited ways by being the only pet in the family. Ellie would thrive in a calm home that allows her to settle into her new surroundings at her own pace. As part of an initiative by the Bissell Pet Foundation, adoption fees are waived for Ellie and all of AHS' adoptable pets 7 months and older now through Sunday, December 8th.

The Arizona Humane Society is eager to find as many loving homes as possible for the sick, injured and abused pets in its care this holiday season.
