MEN-FACIAL

Pamper dad this Father's Day with a must-try treatment.  Check out these hot procedures securing your man's sexy, suave look.

Getting work done isn't just for the gals anymore--boys are jumping on the Botox and beyond bandwagon.  That's right, men are turning to make-over must-dos to upkeep their youthful look; just ask Dr. Susan Van Dyke, a Scottsdale cosmetic dermatologist.

"We used to see 90% women to 10% men, but thanks to new, state-of-the-art treatments, males are coming in just as much as females," said Dr. Van Dyke.

The doctor runs her Valley private practice, and often sees hesitant (yet eager) guys in search of a quick fix.  That's why she offers a handful of treatments specific to men--so tell your beau, hubby, dad, or son it's time to get in touch with their feminine side.

"Everything we do is FDA approved, completely safe, and very effective," she said.

Dr. Van Dyke says the #1 treatment men seek is CoolSculpting, a rather new fat-burning procedure getting rid of love handles.  She's one of the few Valley doctors doing the alternative to lipo.

"It's quick, non-invasive, and not very painful."

CoolSculpting is a controlled cooling method that literally freezes fat cells.  The one-time procedure involves a suction cup pulling your problem spots for about an hour, and over the course of a couple months, you'll lose an inch or more of fat.  It starts at $750.

But if your man is love-handle free, consider Thermage, a laser-like treatment known as radio-frequency.  Thermage tightens up the neck area, giving a guy's heavy lower face a tight make-over.  The one-time procedure is instead of a face lift, pulling collagen leading to firmer, tighter skin.  It starts at $1200.

And Botox isn't just for girly babes anymore--guys are getting in on the action.  You know that mean-looking furrow between many men's eyebrows, right?  Well, Dr. Van Dyke says there's a quick, easy treatment to relax that area on your man's face.  It'll run guys $250+.

Another Botox treatment topping the hot list is targeting your man's sweaty armpits.  (Thank goodness!)  Dr. Van Dyke injects about a half-dozen needles under each arm that literally dries your guy up.  The doctor says it's a great alternative to antiperspirant for heavy sweaters.  The procedure starts at $1000 and lasts about a year, but consider the green you'll save on dry cleaning!

"It's an easy treatment that works great."

Last but not least, IPL--ridding your man of their "boozer nose."  Yes, you know what I'm talking about...that redness often tipping your man's nostrils.  The intense pulse light, commonly known as a photo facial, works like a laser and targets the nose's broken blood vessels.  It takes about 1-2 treatments a year, but the $300 procedure is well worth it--your guy won't be walking around looking like Rudolph.

"A 50 year old wants to see his 40 year old face again.  These procedures do just that."
