After witnessing the wonderful sunset, we got dolled up for dinner--then made our way to Talvera, the resort’s AAA Four-Diamond and Forbes Four-Star steak and seafood eatery.

One word:  WOW.

We sat outside overlooking the Valley—city lights and Kierland fireworks clear in the distance.  Our waiter Sean quickly came to our table, giving us a warm welcome to the ravishing restaurant.  First on his agenda, was making sure we were well-aware of the must-haves on the menu.  This included the beef/crab sushi-concoction appetizer, which I immediately opted to taste test.  We also ordered a bottle of Zin.

Let me just say, whatever that sushi thing was, was amazing.  And so was the vino.

The BF ordered Talvera’s specialty: the prime bone-in rib-eye with hollandaise and cipollini onions.  I chose the Chilean sea bass paired with potato risotto, artichoke, and braised oxtail.   We both couldn’t resist splitting the lobster mac & cheese as a side.  (Is your mouth watering?)

Within due time, Sean served our feast—OMG.

My picky BF gave the rib-eye an easy A+, and trust me; the guy is tough to please when it comes to steak.  I savored every bite of my sea bass, but found the most satisfaction snacking on the mac & cheese, my childhood fave.  (Classy, right?!)

With our tummies full, we couldn’t stomach another bite of food; that is, until Sean arrived with two delectable dessert platters.  (All of a sudden, my body made room for the sweet treats.)

The chocolate cake literally exploded in your mouth, as we washed down each bite with vanilla ice cream topped with cinnamon apples galore.   I couldn’t complain, especially when the cheesecake bites arrived.  How did Sean know I so loved dessert?

Our day and night soon came to a close, after star-gazing on our private patio.  It was a perfect Scottsdale stay-cation—little did we know we could find such an escape in our own backyard.

Following Sunday breakfast, we bid farewell to our beloved Four Seasons.  Our fairy tale experience was over, but our happily ever after continues.  That’s because we’re bound to return to Troon; but next time, we’ll opt for the casita equipped with a private outdoor Jacuzzi.  Yep, the things money can buy.  Green doesn’t make the world go round, but it sure makes things a whole lot easier and more enjoyable.
