We've gone right to the source.  Here's what a British insider is saying about Royal Wedding details.

If you’re hopping a plane to London because you scored a golden ticket to the Royal Wedding, make sure you go prepared.

Ladies—you’ll have to sport “smart” day wear (like a business suit) with high heels and a matching hand-bag.

Gentlemen—fine press your collared suit and tie, and complete your savvy ensemble with a top-hat.

This, according to a British insider, Marie Scott, English wedding planner.

“Every invitation included a strict, detailed dress-code.  It’s formal attire; women cannot wear white or cream, and men must remove their hat for photographs,” said Scott.

Just days before the world renowned wedding, I chatted with Marie Scott who gave us some royal  insight from her London-based business.  She says the streets are already filling up with wedding fans from all over the world; in fact, more than one million people will travel to London for the celebration.  However, all the foot traffic could cause quite a problem, because Scott says there’s only a mere 120,000 hotel rooms in London.

“I’ll be one of the 2.5 billion people watching the Royal Wedding live on television,” said Scott.

It’s the 15th Royal Wedding at the historic Westminster Abbey.  The rehearsal dinner took place a week prior to the much-anticipated event, but William missed out, as he was on duty.

Kate and her family will stay at the 5-Star Goring Hotel Belgravia the night before, and will arrive via glass carriage the morning of their big day.

According to our English expert, the groom and his brother Harry will arrive at Westminster Abbey at 10:15am.  (That’s when Kate and her dad will leave for the Abbey as well.)  The ceremony starts promptly at 11am, then the newlyweds will arrive at Buckingham Palace at 12:30.  The bride and groom will appear on the balcony at about 1:25, followed by a fly-past by the Royal Air Force.

“The expected good weather will encourage everyone to make the most of this special day.”

William will wear his Royal Air Force uniform and his Best Man (brother Harry) will wear the uniform of the household Calvary.

Kate will be called by her full name Catherine, and sport her sparkly 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring once worn by Princess Diana, originally picked out by the Queen.  Scott says it’s been reported the bride will wear the same tiara worn by the Queen at her wedding in 1947; a 180-year old Russian fringe.

Catherine Middleton will skip the traditional wedding vows, replacing “obey” with a promise to “love, comfort, honour, and keep.”

“The Archbishop Rowan Williams will conduct the ceremony; he’s the highest figure in the Church of England, second only to the monarch.”
