Flash-back to Saturday, March 19th, 2011.  That’s when Robles took to the mat at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for the NCAA tournament finals.  Even though he fights with a single leg, our home-town guy has immense upper body strength, having developed a rather unique (and obviously effective) wrestling style.  With his mom holding her breath in the stands, Robles won the 125-pound title, finishing his final season 36-0.  He also scored the Outstanding Wrestler Award.

“I finally reached my goal.  The stress was gone, as was the worry.  I proved everyone wrong.”

And if you have your eyes on his prize, you’ll want to back off.  Sorry ladies, our Valley super-star is not single.  He’s been with his girlfriend for about three years, and admits her genuine personality has him hooked.

But what doesn’t have him hooked is competing.  Our talented Sun Devil will earn a college degree in business this year, and then he’s bidding farewell to the wrestling biz.

“I want to show people you can do whatever you set your mind to.”

Even though he plans on assisting young Arizona State wrestling hopefuls, Robles says his calling is simply being an inspiration.  He plans on becoming a motivational speaker—instilling in future generations there’s no such thing as the word “no.”

“This is me and I can’t change it.  It’s a part of who I am.”
