Living in Phoenix, it's nearly drilled into our heads - "Watch your kids around water." We're encouraged to be aware of the dangers of pools, buckets, bathtubs, canals and even baby pools like the one pictured above. Water draws children in because it's fun - it makes a fun noise when you splash it, it shimmers in the sunlight, and it's a place where they can have fun and probably have good memories from playing in. However, sadly, all too often children are tempted by pools or other watery spots when adults aren't watching - and it can end tragically.

That's why Water Safety Day is so important - and Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs, along with the Phoenix Fire Department, will be holding the Annual Water Safety Day at their resort.

This free event, open to the public, will be held on Friday, June 1st from 4pm - 7pm at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Falls Water Village. Families who attend will receive free admission to the water village, which has two pools, a 130+ foot enclosed water slide, and more. Not only can you swim with your family, but you can also take swimming lessons, participate in face painting, explore the ambulance, fire truck, and rescue boat that will be on display, as well.

There will also be games and prizes, and appearances by the Singing Firefighters and Buddy Bear, as well as some surprise guests. This is a great time to bring the family and be reminded of why water safety is so important, and get some good pointers on how we can keep our children safe during this hot summer season.

The Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort is located at 11111 North Seventh Street in Phoenix, and Water Safety Day will be held on June 1st from 4pm-7pm.
