Our family recently had the opportunity to stay for a weekend at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak, which is located in Phoenix on 16th Street and Glendale Avenue. It's a beautiful, huge property that includes not only the Hole-in-the Wall River Ranch, but a beautiful spa, restaurants, and more pools throughout the grounds.

Check-in is at 4pm, and immediately after we checked in to our two bedroom casita (more on that later), we threw on our swimming suits and headed straight to River Ranch. After getting wristbands (only hotel guests are allowed into the water park) and started having fun. Jeremiah was tall enough for the water slide (42"), but Sarah was not - she was okay with that, though. I did go on the slide - and it was pretty exhilarating, to say the least.

After a few fun hours at the water park, we were ready for bed. We stayed in a two-bedroom casita, which was perfect with Jeremiah and Sarah - they had their own room with big, cushy beds, and my husband and I had a separate room. It was great to be able to close their bedroom door - just like at home - and be able to watch TV or talk without worry of waking them. The casita was two floors, so we had a dining area, small kitchen area, and living room area downstairs, and both bedrooms upstairs - it was very spacious and fantastic for our family of four.

We also had a huge balcony that overlooked a small pool as well as the mountains. It was so nice to sit out there in the morning and enjoy the cool air and the calm before our day of fun began. Another aspect of the room that I loved - the shampoo/conditioner/soap/etc. Normally, I couldn't care less about these - I do use them but I'm never enthusiastic about them. Until now - the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak provides Peter Thomas Roth products in their rooms, and they are absolutely lovely. I'll be sharing more that I loved about the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak resort next week - stay tuned!
