This weekend, we were lucky enough to be guests at Ahwatukee Children's Theatre and Girls Looking Cute's Enchanted in April's grand finale: The Mother/Son, Father/Daughter Royal Ball. It was an amazing evening, and I can't wait to share the fun we had with you!

First, before we entered, there was a chance to have a photo with Cinderella in her carriage, but sadly, Jeremiah and Sarah weren't interested in having their photo taken in the carriage, but there were plenty of other princesses who had beautiful photos taken. Upon entering the ball, Princess Sarah and Prince Jeremiah were announced and received with applause. (Which, naturally, made them even more shy!)

In addition to Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, and Ariel joined us, as well. They were so sweet and seemed so familiar - it wasn't until later that I realized they were all stars in the 2011 ACT production of "A Christmas Carol." They played their parts perfectly, answering all the questions little princesses had for them and posing for photos.

We had a professional ballroom dance lesson, which Jeremiah and I practiced over and over. He paid very close attention to the instruction and tried his best to lead when we were dancing together. Sarah and Jeremiah also danced together, which was sweet and adorable to see.

There were little snacks, as well as some more 'fun' dancing after the traditional ballroom dance music. They played 'Chicken Dance,' which made me laugh - the kids all had to watch their parents to figure out the moves. Now, the 'Cha Cha Slide' was a foreign one for me - thankfully there were teenagers there to help us all out! After dancing, there were games, and then, a coronation ceremony where all the princes and princesses were crowned by Cinderella.

Despite their expressions, they had a blast. Sarah spent the evening asking me when we'd go to a ball again. Jeremiah loved to dance after initially being very self-conscious about it. As adults, we have so many opportunities to dress up and go out, but going out like this with the kids is very rare. I loved having some family time that was just fun and silly and, above all, a royally good time.
