Art on the Wild Side at Phoenix Zoo

Learn more about animal and habitat conservation at the Phoenix Zoo’s “Art on the Wild Side” exhibit. Artists have combined photography, paint and mixed media to illustrate their wildlife visions and zoo’s mission. Visitors can observe or purchase the art in the Savanna Grill gallery. A portion of proceeds will be donated to conservation initiatives.

Family Fun Action and Adventure Festival at OdySea

This Saturday, Captain America, Batman, SuperGril and Wonder Woman are in charge of fun at OdySea in the Desert. From 12 to 4 p.m., hang out with your favorite superheroes, zipline, participate in raffles, enjoy live entertainment and more. The event will take place at the OdySea in the Desert Courtyard and is free to attend.

Nature at Night Walks at South Mountain Environmental Education Center

Spend Saturday evening exploring Arizona’s desert while experiencing the change of season. From 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., accompany a park ranger on an informational nature walk. Arrive at 6 p.m. to enjoy conversations with South Mountain park rangers. Tickets are $4; reserve your spot before Saturday.

Battle of the BBQ at Mother Nature’s Farm

The Valley’s booming east is challenging its settled west to a BBQ-off for the second year in a row. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., six food trucks will take over Gilbert’s Mother Nature’s Farm. Split into teams of two, the trucks will battle until there is one. Residents of the East, West and Central Valley, welcome to the true hunger games. May the odds be ever in their favor! General admission tickets range from $5 to $10.
