On December 3, enjoy one of two concerts in the MIM Music Theater featuring the Phoenix Opera. At 2:30 p.m. “Deck the Halls – Family Holiday Classics with the Phoenix Opera” will feature holiday songs that enchant even the youngest listener. Revel in the beauty of “O Holy Night,” sing along with “Jingle Bells,” and even meet Santa! Tickets are $25 each and include dessert following the show. Later that evening at 7 p.m., enjoy “Hallelujah! Joys of the Season with the Phoenix Opera” featuring highlights from the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah, as well as traditional and international holiday gems. Tickets are $35 each.

Museum encounters in the month of December will also feature holiday music. On December 4, enjoy Bartholomew Faire and Stories of the Yuletide where guests will be treated to the ancient musical roots of our holiday traditions. Later that day, MIM’s own James Gerber will perform holiday favorites on the Rathke “Visible” Organ.

On December 10 the Bells of Paradise, a five-octave, 15-member handbell and chime choir from Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, will perform for museum guests. The Dickens Carolers, a quartet dressed in Victorian-era attire, will also delight museumgoers with four-part holiday songs.

Continuing on December 11, members of the Chai Tones Klezmer offer a selection of music featuring their Jewish roots, incorporating jazz, country and western, baroque, and Irish jigs. The Arizona Opera will also perform a celebration of songs that embraces the spirit of the season.

Lastly, MIM will serve as a Sanderson Ford Operation Santa Claus toy drop-off location from December 1 to 19. Peruse MIM’s Museum Store for an item to donate or get some holiday gift shopping done by purchasing MIM gift cards! Also, enjoy a holiday-inspired menu in the MIM Café on December 3, 4, 10, and 11.

Museum encounters are free with museum admission. Ticket prices for the concerts vary and may be purchased online at theMIM.org, by calling 480-478-6000, or onsite at the MIM Ticket Office.

MIM is located at 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, AZ 85050 (corner of Tatum & Mayo Blvds., just south of Loop 101).
