This year's Suns & Stars Gala is sure to sell out fast as Grammy award winning rock band Huey Lewis and the News are set to headline the Phoenix Suns Charities’ annual event which will take place on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Talking Stick Resort! The lucky guests who attend will enjoy appearances by the entire Suns team and coaching staff, dinner, exciting raffle items and much more, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Huey Lewis and the News have sold over 30 million albums worldwide and scored 19 top-ten singles across the Billboard Hot 100, Adult Contemporary and Mainstream Rock charts. Their album Sports, which has sold 10 million copies, includes the song “The Power of Love” that was featured in the film Back to the Future and became a number-one hit.

In November 2010, Huey Lewis and the News released their first album in nine years, Soulsville. It features 14 classic songs from the vault of Stax Records, including ''Respect Yourself'' and ''Got To Get You Off My Mind.'' Considered to be the preeminent soul music label in America, Stax produced a number of hit records throughout the 1960's and 70's.

All proceeds from the event benefit Phoenix Suns Charities, which works to improve the lives of Arizona youth and families. Phoenix Suns Charities is the cornerstone of the team’s foundation, making grants to non-profit organizations that serve children and youth in the areas of education, health and human services, the arts, sports and recreation, and rehabilitation. In the 23 years since its inception, Phoenix Suns Charities has donated over ten million dollars to worthy Arizona organizations.
