Step back in time at the 49th annual Child Crisis Arizona fundraising gala, taking place March 21 at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa. This year's theme is “Mixtape Magic,” a dedication to the tubular 80s. The gala is set to take place under the stars, with live entertainment and arcade games creating a retro atmosphere.

“In recent years, we’ve transported guests to the disco days of the 1970s, to the tropics of Hawaii, and even to John Dutton’s Yellowstone ranch, and this year is no different,” CEO Torrie Taj said. “For one night, we want to take guests back to the biggest and most bodacious moments of the 80s to help us celebrate what has been an extraordinary period of growth for our organization as well as to help us usher in some sweeping new initiatives.”

A variety of activations are planned, including “a large-scale vintage arcade with everything from Ms. Pac-Man to Whack-A-Mole, DJ spinning classic 80s hits, a host of iconic 1980s look-alikes including Cyndi Lauper and Madonna, and Glamour Shots.”

Rancher Hat Bar will be on-site, giving guests the opportunity to customize their own vintage trucker hat. There will also be live and silent auctions with a “gnarly” variety of packages and experiences up for grabs. After the cocktail reception, guests will move to the terrace for dinner and program emceed by auctioneer Bobby D.

"We will share success stories from individuals who have benefitted from the organization, host our paddle raiser and raffle, and then get dancing all night long,” Taj said.

Arizona-based cover band Rock Lobster will perform to set the groove in motion. The dress code for the evening is 80s prom - picture big hair, lots of accessories, bold colors and lots of patterns. Tickets start at $500. Learn more at Mixtape Magic | Child Crisis AZ Event
