Pedro E. Guerrero was only 22 years old in 1939 when the soon-to-be legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright went out on a limb and gave him a job. After taking a look at his portfolio, Wright hired Guerrero to photograph the creation of Taliesin West, his Arizona home and future architecture school.
Now, at 94 years of age, Guerrero will recall the experience with a special event held at the Arizona Biltmore on January 15, in Wright’s from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Guerrero will host a reception titled, Remembering Taliesin West: An Evening with Pedro E. Guerrero.
“Through these photographs of Taliesin West, I hope to convey to a new generation the excitement and thrill I felt at being a part of a great experiment,” Guerrero noted. “I’m 94 now and not a day goes by when I don’t think about how Mr. Wright, his architecture, and my time at Taliesin West changed my life.”
Tickets are on sale for $100 on the Biltmore’s website (www.arizonabiltmore.com). The photographs will remain on display through April 29, with the exhibit open to the public free of charge.
Stay tuned for a very special Question and Answer Session!
