The Valley’s top newscasters will compete in the “Sundae Summit Challenge” ice cream eating contest at The Phoenician on Sunday, August 31 at 12 p.m. The event, which is open to the public, will allow visitors to support the children and family members of the 19 Yarnell firefighters who recently lost their lives by donating to the Yarnell Fire Memorial Scholarship Endowment.The Sundae Summit Chalenge--which is sold at the resort's Cafe and Ice Cream Parlor for $49--is actually a concoction of 19 scoops of ice cream, three Heath bars, three Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars, six ounces of caramel sauce...

The Country Club at DC Ranch in Scottsdale announces an upcoming renovation and expansion plan. The current facility dates back to 1997, the developer’s original concept when there were fewer members. In response to the growing membership, The Club established a Long Range Planning Committee, to create its vision and goals for the future.

Refresh Glass, a local business that up-cycles wine bottles into functional glassware and art, is hosting a “refreshing hour” tomorrow, August 21, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Postino's Winecafe in Arcadia. The event will benefit the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. At the Refreshing Hour, Ray DelMuro, the owner of Refresh Glass, will be selling a signature Refresh Glass product for $10, which also includes a signature drink.
