In a heartfelt mission to make wedding dreams come true for brides facing financial hardship or personal challenges, Modern Bride has joined forces with Bless with A Dress, a local volunteer-driven initiative. Together, they are bringing compassion and couture to the second annual Bless With A Dress: Wedding Edition event, taking place on June 7, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at An Old Town Wedding & Event Center.
The event is expected to welcome between 200 and 300 brides, each hoping to find the perfect gown to wear on their special day. Modern Bride, as the event’s first official sponsor and partner, will be donating stunning wedding dresses to support women who have endured recent financial struggles, personal hardships, or traumatic life events.
At the heart of this initiative is Julie Hurt, the founder of Modern Bride. With more than 21 years of experience in the industry, Julie built a career rooted in creativity and compassion.
Starting as a self-taught interior designer, she eventually expanded into wedding and event design before launching her first boutique in the same location. Her transition into bridal fashion was a natural evolution, driven by a love for gowns and a deep desire to help every bride feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
"I am proud to support Blessed with A Dress by donating over 110 wedding dresses to brides who may not otherwise had the opportunity to have a dress. As someone blessed with a beautiful business, I want to be a helping hand to other brides. I am in the business of love, and it brings me immense joy to support others on their special day,” Hurt said.
Modern Bride, located in Old Town, is a haven for the modern bride who seeks more than just a dress – it’s where love stories are translated into fashion. Specializing in couture bridal wear, the boutique features a carefully curated collection of custom gowns with glamorous styles, intricate embellishments, and dramatic silhouettes.
This partnership between Modern Bride and Bless with A Dress exemplifies the power of community, fashion, and kindness coming together for a greater purpose. Brides attending the June 7 event can expect a welcoming, uplifting experience, and leave with a gown that symbolizes hope, renewal, and the start of a beautiful new chapter.
