You just got engaged. You ring is clean and sparking. You already know the wedding gown you HAVE to try on. Your friends all want to know what your colors are, how many bridesmaids are you going to have, and where are you going to hold this celebration.
The sound of screeching tires rear through your mind, slowly panic sets in. Where am I going to get married? How do I even start to look for a venue?
{By the way, you should hire a planner then these moments of panic would not exist!}
Picking out your venue is the largest decision of planning your wedding. It is going to set the tone, theme and overall feel of your wedding.
One of a planner’s favorite things is when a bride chooses a venue that is reflective of her and her groom. Not every bride fits into the hotel ballroom or the exclusive country club reception. She might be more contemporary or eclectic.
I had the privilege of visiting the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues at the beginning of April for a tour and to get a taste of their over-the-top catering by Aventura Catering.

While it’s easy to win me over with amazing food {as they did}, it is a bit more difficult to win me over with a good venue.
As a planner when I walk into a space I have to “see it to believe it”. I walk the space and in my mind I start to put together a wedding to see if it would work. Sometimes it does, and some times it doesn’t! This time it did!
Along with the Phoenix Convention Center the other affiliated downtown venues are Orpheum Theatre and Symphony Hall. Each with it’s own personality and attributes for a seeking bride.

Along with these beautiful venues, is the one of a kind food. Aventura’s Executive Chef creates over-the-top dining experiences for your guests and does so while partnering with local and regional suppliers. One of Aventura's ambitions is to create sustainability and minimal environmental impact while giving the guests lasting results.
Bottom line, when you are searching for a venue make sure it is something that reflects who you and your groom are. Then everything else will fall a bit easier into place.
