Sculptor Kevin Caron will open up his metal and 3-d printing studios to the public for one special weekend giving visitors a private tour and first hand look at his work.

Explore Two Worlds: The Sculpture & Studios of Kevin Caron on Caron will be opening his home to visitors to see where and how he creates his 3D printed sculptures happening Saturday, November 12 at his studio located at 5831 N. 46th Place, Phoenix 85018. He will also open up his metalworking studio for visitors to see where and how he works. Explore Caron’s diverse selection of sculpture and enjoy food and fun on Sunday, November 13 at his studio located at 1847 N. 40th Street, Phoenix 85008.

Caron’s ability and skilled hand allows him to work with an innate grasp of space, proportion and physics, when sculpting. He is visually aware of his work, as well as their sound and texture creating unique and striking steel sculptures that range in scale and color. When asked about the inspiration behind these incredible sculptures Caron said that it was “inspired by his interest in astronomy and geometric forms.” Caron further said “in my work I seek out illusion in contour and its capacity, treating unusual intersections as purposeful composition.”

Utilizing new digital tools to create beautiful 3-D printed sculptures, which continue to garner him tremendous buzz within the art community. “The intersection between tools and my work, have led to my pioneering work with 3D printing, designs his work and printing it himself on a unique 8-foot-tall 3D printer”, which visitors can experience first hand this weekend at his studio.

Caron has been sculpting full time since 2006, busy amassing quite a resume, exhibiting his work nationally as well as receiving numerous commissions in the public art realm with more than 45 sculptures in both public and private sectors from coast-to-coast. His work as garnered many awards and been featured in several publications both online and in print, including Arizona Republic, Visual Art Source, and Phoenix New Times, just to name a few.
