PhxartwalkTime to head to Downtown Phoenix and explore local galleries during the monthly Third Friday Artwalk from 6-10pm along Roosevelt Row and Grand Avenue and this weekend marks the return of the 15th Annual Self-Guided Ceramic Studio Tour.

Five15 ArtsFive15 Arts is featuring “Desert Chandeliers” the solo exhibition of Mary Shindell featuring beautiful mixed media sculptures incorporating mesmerizing lights and her drawings of local flora and fauna. They will be hosting the artist reception for Shindell from 6-10pm on Friday with an additional viewing opportunity on Saturday from 1-5pm.Five15 Arts is located at 515 E. Roosevelt Street, Phoenix.

Modified Arts featuring a special fundraising exhibition “Artist for the Wurth House” showcasing a dynamic group exhibition featuring the work of 25 artists including Kte Timmerman, Kristen Bauer, Lara Plecas and Greg Esser just to name a few. The exhibition highlights the past, present and future of the Phoenix Visual Arts scene, plus sales from this show benefit the Wurth House and will be used in its preservation and restoration. The monOrchid is hosting the Closing Receptions for their February artists Chris Maker and Cherie Buck-Hutichson with an opportunity to meet and hear the artists speak about their work and creative process. Chris Maker’s solo retrospective exhibition People, Place and State showcases 10 years of work highlighting his interests in people, architects and more. Hutchison’s solo exhibition “Conjuring the Consecrated” highlights photography that she has created by compositing multiple images together to create a commentary on society, feminism and more. Spend your weekend meandering the 15th Annual Self-Guided Ceramic Studio Tour that features 13 open studios, an exhibition at the ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research Center & Brickyard Gallery, in addition to presenting guest artists and art demonstrations.

Some must see stops on the tour Is the Patricia Sannit Studio, which highlights the work of Patricia Sannit, Constance McBride and Magda Gluszek. They will also be doing demonstrations including figurative sculpture, carving patterns on leather hard clay and post firing surface treatments. The Patricia Sannit Studio is located just west of highway 51 at 2631 E. Cortez St., Phoenix. Also check out the studio of Deborah Hodder along with guest artists Bradley Klem and Susan Risi. The weekend will feature wonderful demonstrations by the artists. The Deborah Hodder Studio is located at 1515 West Catalina Drive.
