Home Art Art Galleries SculptureTucson Announces Series of Three Complementary Artists Talks on May 1

On Saturday, May 1, SculptureTucson is pleased to present a series of three complimentary artist talks featuring large-scale artists whose works are highlighted within its “Rough Terrain” exhibition, currently on display at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park.

The first artist talk, beginning at 12:30 p.m., features Julia Arriola discussing her work “Savanna Silhouette: Dedicated to Missing Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.” At 1:30 p.m., Hector Ortega talks about his piece, “Constrained Geometries #2”, and at 2:30 p.m. Alex Heveri discusses “Goddess of Fire.” Each 30-minute talk is free and open to the public.

“We are so excited to give our artists — whose works often serve as an outlet for their voices — a chance to ‘take the stage' to explain the inspiration and processes behind their pieces,” says Barbara Grygutis, Board President of SculptureTucson. “We love to present residents and art aficionados with opportunities to appreciate public art, and this series of artists talks is just more way for us to do just that.”

“Rough Terrain,” the inaugural exhibit of SculptureTucson’sSculpture Park, features 20 pieces and is open to the public for viewing by appointment Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 5:00 p.m. until Sunday, July 4. To schedule a visit, email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
