CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF PHOENIX AND DELTA DENTAL OF ARIZONA COME TOGETHER FOR 13TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR TO ENSURE KIDS HAVE HEALTHY SMILES

All Programming and Activities are 100% Outside and 100% Fun.

The Children’s Museum of Phoenix and Delta Dental of Arizona (DDAZ) have partnered to bring Oral Health programming to the Museum for the month of February – National Children’s Dental Health Month. This marks the 13th consecutive year that the Museum and DDAZ have joined forces to provide oral health education programs to Museum visitors. The Museum will host interactive activities, shows and educational information all related to the mouth, teeth, and oral health Fridays through Sundays all month long.

Weekend programs include:

  • The Great Flossini will make appearances at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Feb. 5, 12, 20, 26 and 28, presenting the Totally Tooth-Ular Magic Show. Audience members become a part of the show – from a distance this year – with highly interactive magic routines designed specifically to reinforce the importance of brushing, flossing, eating healthy foods and visiting the dentist regularly.
  • DDAZ will bring in pediatric dentists who will partake in Q&A sessions with children and their parents called From First Tooth to Loose Tooth. This casual program, which will be available from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Feb. 7, 14, 20 and 26, provides an opportunity for parents to chat with pediatric dentists from across the Valley about anything from thumb-sucking to the best time to take your baby to the dentist.
  • The Great Arizona Puppet Theater is also back again this year, performing oral health-themed puppet shows at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Feb. 6, 13, 19, 21 and 27. Each performance is geared toward children ages 2 to 8.

Daily hands-on activities range from art projects to teaching proper brushing techniques and flossing tactics, crafts to create tooth-saver necklaces, and educational opportunities to learn about tooth-saving traditions from other cultures and about the teeth of various animals.

In addition, back by popular demand are "Smile Bags" containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and fun facts about dental health. These free giveaways will be available Fridays through Sundays, 9am to 4pm, to all visitors of the Museum Feb. 1-28.

Thanks to Delta Dental of Arizona, oral health programming and activities are free with paid Museum admission of $14.95/person. Children under the age of 1 are free as are Members of the Children’s Museum of Phoenix.

Masks are required for all visitors ages 3 and up. All tickets must be purchased online in advance at https://childrensmuseumofphoenix.org/museum-admission/ .
