Welcome to A Love Letter to Tucson: Modern Style Acrylic Painting Class! Join us at Tucson Small Business Center on July 12 for a fun and creative in-person event. Let's celebrate the beauty of Tucson through art! In this class, you'll learn modern acrylic painting techniques while expressing your love for our vibrant city. No experience needed, just come with an open heart and a willingness to create. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with fellow art enthusiasts and show your love for Tucson on canvas. See you there!
Join artist Angela Soliz for a workshop in modern style acrylic painting. In this workshop you'll learn about acrylic painting, brush techniques, composition, design principles, the rules of courageous creativity and color theory. Expect some spontaneous dance breaks, meditation and a lot of joy. All genders, abilities and levels of experience welcome. Participants will gain hands on experience with acrylic painting while engaging sensory motor skills, eye-hand coordination, creativity and visual thinking. Cultivate a deeper connection with self and intuition, build resilience and paint with acrylics. Open to people ages 8 to 100.
Let's have an adventure. Acrylic painting is good for the heart and its good for the brain and its fun and low stakes. It's an opportunity to get out of your head and into your body and practice creative courage and relax.
About the Artist:
Angela Soliz is a fine artist, acrylic painter, educator and the founder of Gela Road, a creative resilience agency, who helps people uncover their identity and build purpose-driven lives from the inside out. Angela has 20 years of experience painting with acrylics and teaching. She is a teaching artist with Free Arts Arizona, an organization dedicated to working with kids in the foster care system and also teaches at The Drawing Studio, a community arts space and serves as adjunct faculty at Pima Community College. With a multidisciplinary background and a passion for climbing mountains—both literal and metaphorical—Angela brings a grounded, courageous approach to personal and creative transformation through art.
All Around Town:
These classes are happening all summer long. Look for other dates at Groundswell Capital and Tucson Small Business Center, Tucson Country Club, The Dunbar Pavillion, Online, and The Drawing Studio. You can also request that your local public library host a class. In June I was at Murphy-Wilmot, Oro Valley and Ajo-Salazar public libraries, thanks to grant funding. More locations to come!
