Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants (you might know the brand from its uber-hip Valley properties, FireSky Resort in Scottsdale and Hotel Palomar in Phoenix) have added a new property: Sedona's luxe Amara Resort and Spa. This is Kimpton's first property in Northern Arizona.

Amara, which is already known for its laid-back, contemporary atmosphere, great spa and close proximity to the babbling Oak Creek, is now kicked up a notch with Kimpton’s style and playfulness that includes, animal print robes, secret passwords and nightly wine receptions. www.amararesort.com. 

Congrats to Refresh Glass! The Tempe-based company, that uses wine bottles from landfills and turns them into functional art, announced plans for a major expansion. The company will triple in size in the next 12 months after a recent infusion of funding from MAC6, a local conscious capitalism incubator. One of the company's first upgrades is a move to a new 38,000-sq.-ft. Tempe co-op manufacturing facility, where it will occupy 6,000-sq.-ft. of the mixed-use commercial space. Another change, the company plans to expand from seven employees to 20 within a year.
