As the Arizona Humane Society continues to face ongoing capacity issues, the state’s largest animal welfare organization is calling on the community to support its homeless pets through adoption, fostering and volunteering. To help free up lifesaving kennel space, the organization will host a one-day adoption event where ALL pets have $0 adoption fees on Saturday, June 27, at all three of its adoption locations.

For pets like adorable Lyra, a six-month-old Cattle Dog, having space at the Arizona Humane Society allowed her life to be saved as she was transferred in from another shelter along with her eight littermates. This happened thanks to AHS’ New Hope program, which allows pets in need of medical care to be brought in from other rescues as most others are not equipped to help with those issues.

Lyra was treated for kennel cough and stomach issues and now is waiting for her forever home after all of her other littermates have been adopted. This cute pup would love a home that helps her get her energy out, lots of cuddles after a long day and time dedicated to training so she can learn new tricks.

Lyra’s adoption fee includes her spay surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip, and a follow-up wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital.
