CDs are dead?
Somehow, Starbucks is still able to sell Compact Discs.
The only CDs I've bought in the past 5 years have been courtesy of creepy Starbucks. It's a funny combo of the fresh and exciting cover art, obscure and can't-find-it-anywhere-else tracks and the fact that you're just waiting for your latte, anyway, that contribute to the repeated CD purchases, I believe.
Past fantasy CDs I've accumulated include Glam Rock, a compilation of tons of Freddie Mercury-esque tunes, special Burt Bacharach hits, Michael Buble nonsense and now Musique Pop de Paris, an adorable collection of French pop music from the 1960s. It features yé-yé rock, a style similar ti go-go music that combines early rock and Gallic elements.
It sounds as cute as the album cover looks.
Starbucks, $13.
