On Saturday, Nov. 2, 3,000 people and their four-legged companions participated in the 21st annual Walk to Save Animals at Tempe Beach Park. Hosted by the Arizona Animal Welfare League, the 2k/5k walk raised more than $156,000 for the state’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter. Guests also enjoyed lure and agility courses, training demos, pictures with Santa, a puppy kissing booth, live music and the popular "Alumni Parade" that celebrates pets who have been rescued by the shelter over the years. AAWL helps rescue, re-home and rehabilitate more than 4,000 animals every year and assists 32 rural rescue partners statewide.
