A New Leaf’s Teed Off at Domestic Violence golf tournament at Top Golf Scottsdale Riverwalk brought in over $40,000 on October 21, 2016. Funds raised at the tournament benefit the critical services provided through A New Leaf’s homeless and domestic violence shelters. A New Leaf provides shelters for women in crisis with our East and West Valley shelters, Autumn House Domestic Violence Shelter and Faith House Crisis Shelter. Besides emergency shelter, A New Leaf provides permanent supportive housing, childcare, workforce training, and basic needs for survivors of domestic violence. Special guests ASU’s Alpha Chi Omega brought back their selfie station and some friends from the fraternity Alpha Kappa Lambda, who partner on Kickin It with Alpha Chi Kickball Tournament to raise funds for our Autumn House Domestic Violence Shelter. Event highlights were the “Clothesline Project” and the “In Her Shoes” walk through, in which guests were able to experience what a victim of domestic violence goes through and the difficult choices made to escape abuse. Entertainment was provided by Kyle Sorrell and Efrain Urias added a Scottish flare to the event with his bagpipes. Event sponsors were: Arizona State University, Bennett Property Management, Chasse Building Team, East Valley Firefighters, Eide Bailly, Mobile Mini, Northern Trust, Shutterfly, and Udall Shumway.
