May 16, 2014. Danny Raustadt, Arizona Foothills contributing photographer, was invited to photograph Exercise Angel Thunder, the world's largest Personnel Recovery exercise, conducted annually out of Davis-Monthan AFB. It integrates sister services and numerous states, national, multinational and inter-agency assets dedicated to saving lives in incredible circumstances. Pararescuemen participated alongside civilian and international counterparts in a variety of scenarios including urban warfare in realistic environments. Aircraft participating in this exercise include HH-60G Pave Hawks, UH-60 Black Hawks, , AH-64 Apaches, French EC-735 Caracal helicopters, HC-130P Hercules and HC-130J Combat King II.
