Rocket is the kind of dog who makes everyone smile the moment they meet him. This sweet eight-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix is a gentle soul with a huge heart to match.
The smiley pup was rescued in November as an injured stray who had sores on his back legs and unfortunately nowhere else to turn. Once in the care of the Arizona Humane Society, it was found Rocket has arthritis and hip dysplasia, which is common in larger, older dogs. However, this can easily be managed with care from his future veterinarian and, more importantly, this cute boy is still comfortable and continues to enjoy walks, cuddles, and quality time.
As a senior pup, Rocket is mellow, calm, very easy to walk on a leash and is proof that older dogs have so much love left to give. Rocket would do best with a family who enjoys calm companionship and affectionate dogs who will help him settle into his new forever home.
Thanks to Hill's Pet Nutrition, all big dogs weighing 50 pounds and more will have waived adoption fees through January! Regal Rocket's $0 adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip, and a follow-up wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital.
