Although she more closely resembles a Muppet with her amazing hairdo, Susan is an adorable six-year-old Parsons Terrier Shih Tzu mix, who is now ready to find her forever home. Susan came to the Arizona Humane Society as an injured stray in September, and despite the severe trauma to her eyes that required a double enucleation, she has been resilient and adaptable.
Now out of pain, Susan is learning to navigate the world in new ways, using her keen sense of hearing to listen to voices and gain confidence as she explores her surroundings. This sweet girl loves being around people and enjoys getting all the booty scratches she can.
This sweet girl is a wonderful example of just how resilient animals can be, especially special needs pets. Some tips to help Susan navigate in her new forever home include keeping the layout of the house relatively the same, ensuring there are safety gates for stairways and pools and helping her through sounds and a normalized routine.
With her charming personality and the cutest hairdo in town, Susan is sure to win your heart. Susan’s adoption fee includes her spay surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip, and a follow-up wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital.
