In honor of Adopt a Senior Pet Month, this adorable nine-year-old Australian Kelpie has brought out his cutest and best smile ever (spoiler alert: all of Tony's smiles are the best)! Tony's journey began at the Arizona Humane Society as an injured puppy in 2015 where he was quickly adopted after being treated however he was recently returned through no fault of his own when his owner could no longer care for him.
Benefits of adopting senior pups include knowing their background most of the time as well as the fact that what you see is what you get with them. This sugar faced pup is housetrained, loves car rides, and enjoys splashing in the water. Like most pets, Tony is food motivated and still full of energy despite his senior status, making him a delightful companion.
This special month is aimed at bringing awareness to pets that often sit at shelters longer than their younger companions due to being overlooked. However, when you adopt a pet like Tony, you know you are not just getting a lifetime of unconditional love but ensuring that a loving pet will live out their golden years with the happy ever after that they deserve.
In honor of Veterans Day Weekend, all adoptable dogs six months and older have $0 adoption fees Thursday, November 7th through Monday, November 11th thanks to the generosity of longtime AHS supporters, Ted and Stuart Tufty. Interested adopters can meet terrific Tony at AHS' Papago Park Campus location. Tony's waived adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip, and a follow-up wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital.
