These cities were selected based off of pet store population, veterinarians in the area, the dog population in the area, number of sunny days a year and walk score. From places to explore to perfect weather, these canine friendly cities have everything a dog could want.
1. Miami, Florida
The sunny state of Miami ranked number one in pet stores per capita. Miami had an average overall score of 3.6. Your dog will also enjoy nearly perfect weather year round, providing many opportunities for walks on the beautiful endless beaches.
2. Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas has more going for it than gambling and bright lights. Las Vegas had an average overall score of 3.8. The city of sinners was the only city to rank in the top 10 for four different catagories. These catagories included sixth place for dog parks and eighth place for sunny weather!
3. Tucson, Arizona
Tucson, Ariz. serized the number 3 spot for best cities to be a dog. Tucson had an average overall score of 5.0. It's no secret that Tucson has beautiful weather nearly year round, making it the twelth place for number of sunny days a year. Tucson is also ranked number 15 for dog parks!
4. Sacramento, California
Sunny Sacramento ranked number 8 in dogs per capita and number 27 in veterinarians per capita. Sacramento had an average overall score of 5.2. Your canine buddy will have several dog compadres and be quite healthy!

Orlando, Fla. is not only good for palm trees and sunshine, but is a great place to take your favorite furry friend. Orlando had an average overall score of 5.2. Orlando is ranked number 2 in dog stores per capita, along with second in veterinarians per capita!

6. Scottsdale, Arizona
The Valley's own Scottsdale, Ariz. seized sixth place for best cities to be a dog. Scottsdale had an average overall score of 5.4. Scottsdale ranks number 3 in sunny days a year, along with number 21 in dogs per capita.

7. Honolulu, Hawaii
Here today, gone to Maui! Honolulu had an average overall score of 5.4. Honolulu came in seventh in dogs per capita. Honolulu was also one of the only two cities to not fall below 36th in every catagory.
8. Tampa, Florida
Yet another city from Florida stole a coveted spot on this list for places for your furry friends to live. Tampa fell right behind Honolulu, also having an average overall score of 5.4.Tampa ranked third in pet stores per capita and fifth in veterinarians per capita.

Saint Louis had an average overall score of 5.4. They also received sixth place in number of dog stores and fifth in dogs per capita!
