Mark and Isabel Candelaria unite the twin disciplines and arts of Architecture and Interior Design. A Valley resident for about 40 years, Mark founded Candelaria Design Associates (CDA) in 1999, and Isabel purchased Earth and Images in 2007 after freelancing for the woman who owned it before. Both companies are in Scottsdale.

With the associates of both companies, Mark and Isabel collaborate with clients, builders and contractors such as Arizona Structures and homebuilding vendors to create exceptional projects.

They are two of the finest people we have ever met, and we cherish their friendship as well as their creativity, love for life and adventure and willingness to share their experiences with others. They are not just uniquely talented people but multi-faceted in their lives, enjoying, among other activities, cooking with or for clients, traveling the world, mentoring and even singing!

“The relationship between all members of the design/client team is crucial to the success of the project. It primarily is founded on trust, respect among all parties, combined with open and ongoing communication,” Mark says, noting that he is involved with every CDA project.

“Our best projects have always had this strong connection –– many times outlasting the life of the project and the clients becoming some of my best friends in life.”

Candelaria Design Associates and Earth and Images maintain the highest standards so that clients’ unique lifestyle needs are met, whether Mark and Isabel are working together on a project or with other professionals.

“That’s really what we try to focus on: How do we give our client a home that embodies their daily rituals and way of life or even how they aspire to live?” Mark says, “And that includes cooking, entertaining, spending time with family and other lifestyle concerns.”

“We are designing something so personal like a private residence, how can you not want to develop a close and intimate relationship with your clients so you can give them the best of how they want to live?”
