You’ll find the menu fairly affordable—many dishes are under $10.  But you can also opt for the elite experience—a Chef’s tasting accompanied with a tequila pairing.  (Just make sure to designate a driver!)

You can choose from a selection of slow roasted meats, served with traditional Mexican sides. Barbacoa dishes include: black angus beef brisket, Berkshire pork spare ribs, and Yucatan-style rotisserie chicken.  Or, you can do what we did—feast on the variety of tacos.  Yep, the Chef puts a whole new twist on tacos, offering seafood, chicken, and meat choices.  (I even gave the lengua a try…that’s veal tongue.)  And make sure to order the Chef’s creamy corn—it’s served with queso, chipotle, and lime.

And how can I forget dessert?!  Churros.  They melt in your mouth.

The restaurant’s outdoor “patio kitchen” opens this spring overlooking the stunning Scottsdale Center for the Arts plaza.  It will seat 70 guests who can watch the cooks work their magic, making menu options on the 600-pound smoker and rotisserie grill.

No doubt, this place is sure to be a big-time hit.  The Chef’s original Distrito in Philadelphia has been featured in Food & Wine, GQ, Glamour, and Bon Appetit.  The reviews are all good.

To top things off, make a night of your culinary experience!  Stay at The Saguaro, a contemporary; yet, colorful hotel featuring 194 rooms, two heated outdoor pools and cabanas, a full-service spa, and 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
