Skip the cooking and splurge on NYE!  Here are the hottest (and tastiest) spots to eat dinner before ringing in 2012.

If your idea of New Year’s Eve celebrations consists of the finest food and fantastic sippers, this article is for you.  We’re counting down the Valley’s very best New Year’s Eve feasts.

First, you can head to one of my favorites: The Four Seasons Troon.  Fill your tummy with a four or six course dinner at the resort’s esteemed eatery, Talavera.  As a bonus, you’ll get a complimentary glass of bubbly, in addition to fun party favors in the Onyx Bar & Lounge.  It costs $85 for the first seating, and $150 for the second.  Call for reservations.

And if you stick around Troon for the night, wake up to the resort’s “Hang Over” station.  On New Year’s Day, The Four Seasons will be featuring a fabulous Bloody Mary bar at their Crescent Moon restaurant’s breakfast buffet.  It costs $38.

But if you’ll be hanging around Old Town, head to Old Town Whiskey, Scottsdale’s new lounge bar at the re-vamped Saguaro Hotel.  The New Year’s party will feature DJ Melo spinning funk, soul, and Motown, and you can cheers to 2012 at specially-priced flights of Glenrothes Scotch.  (Just in case you’re not into bubbly.)  It’s new neighboring restaurant Distrito will also be serving a prix fixe NYE menu featuring multi-course meals.  Holiday overnight packages are available.

And according to AAA Arizona, Cork Restaurant in Chandler is offering quite a spread for NYE eaters.  First course choices include sweet potato and corn chowder, baby scallops, Dungeness crab, squash soup, braised rabbit, or goat cheese mousse.  (Whoa.)  For the main course, you’ll have your pick between prime beef, veal cheek, risotto, lobster gnocchi, or duck.  And of course you’ll top things off with an array of desserts.

However, if you’ve never been to Central Phoenix’s Noca, NYE is the perfect time to check it out.  That’s because the AAA Four Diamond Restaurant has an arrangement of delectable dishes to ring in 2012, including tuna, squash salad, and lobster bisque.  And the course options continue.  You can also order sea urchin spaghetti, Barolo rice grit porridge, or tagliatelle con tartufo.  (Don’t know what that means, but it sounds good!)  For dinner, Noca is featuring bass or filet, and for dessert, treat yourself to some warm chocolate soup.  (Tempting, I know.)

And finally, Sassi, known to be the Valley’s most savvy Italian venue.  The restaurant is offering the finest of foods, plus live music beginning at 8:30pm on NYE.  Scrumptious dinner choices include an Italian-inspired salmon, Sicilian bass, and dark chocolate panna cotta, in addition to other appetizing options.  There is also a second dinner seating ($135 per person).

You’ll surely enter 2012 with a happy stomach.
