As we enter the new year, now's the time to consider the stars.  Check out what your sign says about you and your loved ones.

As we enter 2012, ‘tis the time to consider the stars.  Yes, your astrological sign says so much about you, but today, we’re breaking things down briefly, and to the point.  Thanks to Mary E. Dixon, Ph.D., we have the scoop on each sign and what they stand for.

But before you learn more about yourself, first get to know Mary.  She’s a certified Astrology teacher, having taught at the university level.  She has a wealth of educational background—degrees in English, Mythology, Human Behavior, and Counseling Psychology.  And to top it off, she’s listed in the Psychic Blue Book of Los Angeles.

That’s why Mary’s our astrological go-to-gal.

She says at the moment of birth, a map of the stellar energies are imprinted on the new life, and that imprint remains for the life span.  From the stars, she can determine people’s personality, talents, weaknesses, etc, in addition to the kind of person they’re attracted to.  Consider astrology a personal map—the cosmic energies allow us to experience, grow and reach our goals and destinies.

Mary first wanted to comment on Aries, those born between March 20th and April 21st.  Since we’re doing the mini-version of each sign, we’ll just cover the basics.  Aries men and women are warm, spontaneous, and have a sense of adventure.  That’s what makes them good leaders.  These guys and gals specifically enjoy the outdoors, sports, solving problems, and competition; however, patience and forbearance are not their best attributes.

Next, Taurus, those born between April 21st and May 22nd.  Taurus people have a sense of beauty, value, and determination—and those three attributes give them great success. In addition, Taurus peeps are attuned to the arts and financial security. They like the finer things of life and are willing to put forth the time to get them. But change and teamwork are difficult for these guys to handle.

The Gemini sign covers those born between May 22nd and June 22nd, and Mary says these folks are all about communication.  Writing, translating, and speaking are their forte, and their curious mind loves travel, education, and being social.  However, Geminis have a tough time following through with things because they are easily distracted.

After Gemini, comes Cancer, those born between June 22nd and July 23rd.  These people are magnetic because others are drawn to their loving nature.  Cancer men and women are tolerant and nurturing, loving nature, the home, sharing, and teaching.  They’re also very trustworthy, but have intense emotions that tend to get in the way of things.

Leos are born July 23rd to August 24th, and love being the center of attention.  They’re charismatic, dramatic, stylish, and beautiful—in other words, perfectionists.  (And this means they can get overly involved in themselves.)  However, these guys are givers, but expect the same from others.

Virgos are born between August 24th and September 23rd, and Mary says analysis is their strength, specifically loving math, science, and puzzles.  These people enjoy precision, neatness, gardening, and health foods, and are often drawn to helping humanity.  However, all this nit-picking can get out of hand; in fact, Mary says they can be too precise to handle teamwork.

And then there are Libras—those born between September 23rd and October 24th.  Consider these men and women sensitive, creative, and romantic.  Their sense of equality makes them a diplomat and arbitrator, but they tend to get bored with lack of variety.  Their sign is the scales, so Libras seek balance in the arts and relationships; however, they value their independence.

Scorpios are born October 24th through November 23rd, and tend to be a natural psychologist who enjoys the sciences.  These folks are emotional truth seekers; secrets, motives, and mystery fascinates them.  However, their passion can get a little excessive—the Scorpio’s intensity can lead to achievement but only with the right focus.

The Sagittarius girl or boy is born between November 23rd and December 22nd, and their enthusiastic, charming, playful side makes them good-time-Charlie.  Sports, the outdoors, and ecology tends to be of interest; however, their more serious side craves justice, education, and wisdom.  According to Mary, these free spirits find commitment and scheduling difficult.

Capricorns come next, and they’re born December 22nd through January 20th.  These guys are comfortable with some routine and stability; seeking fame, but not popularity.  They tend to be organized and independent--often their own boss.  This makes them controlling at times, but they often have the best ideas.

Aquarius men and women are born January 20th through February 10th, and they’re always on the cutting edge of things.  They are attracted to new ideas, inventions, and technology; in fact, others may find them a bit unusual.  They also prefer thinking, rather than doing physical work.  Patience is a slight weakness, but being practical is their plus.

Finally, Pisces—those born between February 20th and March 20th.  Consider these peeps psychic and poetic, attracted to the arts.  They’re often ruled by their heart, constantly caring for all living creatures.  Their strength is doing their best in uplifting surroundings.
