Three cheers for America's most favorite food, as we get in the 4th of July holiday spirit.  Meet the mastermind behind the Valley's hottest dogs.

Randy L. Walters is a self-proclaimed Top Dog.

More than 30 years ago, Walters ditched Pittsburgh, following his lovely lady to the Valley…and he’s been a Zoni ever since.  However, he keeps his Pittsburgh roots alive carrying on his father’s passion: hot dogs.

“I ate 4 hot dogs during my first Pittsburg Pirates game.  When I asked my dad for more, he said, "This is a baseball game, you’re supposed to eat too many dogs and drink too much soda,” said the Top Dog himself.

Daddy sure does know best.

It’s the all-American food: a juicy, tasty, delectable dog.  And you can down as many dogs as you please at Walters’ hot dog-dedicated joint, Pittsburgh Willy’s.

“My dad ran a Pittsburgh restaurant called Wimpy’s, so I wanted to open something along those lines.  That’s why my daughters came up with Willy’s…it’s my poker name,” he said.

And you can check out Randy’s poker face at his Chandler restaurant.

Pittsburgh Willy’s opened in November 2008, and it’s quite the hot spot for hot dog lovers.  He offers 8 unique gourmet dogs, including “The Greek,” topped with sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and feta cheese; “The Freddie G,” smothered in BBQ sauce, onion rings, and asiago cheese; and “The Arizonan,” coated with fire-roasted tomatoes, peppered bacon, guacamole, and cheddar cheese.

…Is your mouth watering?

“We also serve home-made soup and a bunch of sandwiches.”

But hot dogs are surely the main attraction.
