It's where the magic happens...and NO, I'm not talking about that!  Forget sinning in Sin City--here's a way to treat your sweetie to a stunning Vegas date night.

Strippers, gambling, and all things bad; that’s the theme of Sin City.  But the strip has a romantic side—one you might not consider being bombarded by burlesque babes and overflowing booze.

Located on the heart of Las Vegas Boulevard is the Bellagio, a luxurious AAA Five Diamond Award-winning hotel.  It’s a dreamy date spot to bring your sweetie if you’re looking for an easeful evening in the southwest city that never sleeps.

Vegas nightclubs topped my list at 21, but now my favorite part of the Strip is simply the dancing waters.  Inspired by Italy’s Lake Como, lays the 8-acre lake gracing the front of the Bellagio hotel.  It is home to the famed dancing fountain: a complimentary, choreographed show of water, music, and lights.  Each stunning performance is paired with a delightful tune; often opera, classical, or Sinatra-inspired.

That’s why the BF scored major points when he kicked off our Sin City date night at Olive’s.

The Bellagio eatery serves Mediterranean-style cuisine, but the food is surely not the main attraction.  We waited the extra hour or so to be seated on the intimate Olive’s patio overlooking the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Bellagio.

As we sipped on vino and ordered an assortment of appetizers, we soaked in the refreshing breeze from the sporadic spectacle of the Bellagio’s dancing waters.

Our dinner was delightful; I give the experience an A+, however, that was just the beginning of being swept away in Sin City.

After Olive’s, we made our way to the Bellagio’s “O” theatre to experience the magic of the Cirque Du Soleil aquatic production.  The 1,800 seat custom theatre is reflective of a 14th century European opera house, equipped with a 1.5 million-gallon pool.

We sat center-stage anticipating the start of the 90 minute spectacle, and “O”MG was it wonderful.

The show is named after the French word for “water,” and there’s a whole lot of H2O while 85 performers strut their stuff.  The acrobats, synchronized swimmers, and divers keep comfortable in the 88-degree pool that has a complex communication system allowing the performers to breathe underwater. The scuba-certified performers take you on a voyage of artistry, surrealism, and theatrical romance, wowing crowds since its opening in 1998.  More than 5,600 performances later, “O” remains one of the hottest (and priciest) tickets on the Strip.  (Tickets can exceed $150, but I think it is money well spent.)

During the performance, you’ll catch contortionists doing things you wouldn’t dream of; divers flipping down, down, down, as they take the plunge; and acrobats swinging side to side to live music.  Yep, glance around the theatre and you’ll see the musicians play from glass enclosures—and some of the instruments used are more than 100 years old!

Your dinner-show date night will surely be one you’ll never forget.  Seal the deal with a kiss on the Sin City Strip; no jackpot exceeds being lucky in love.
