Before Hendrix was born, Lauren worked at a Portland ad agency, but after relocating to the Southwest, she decided to spend her time adjusting to AZ and traveling with her husband.
“The Suns are a very family-oriented organization. We are invited to travel with the team a handful of times each year.”
Lauren says her life is a blessing, but it’s still difficult when basketball season starts.
“All of a sudden I have to decide how I’m going to handle myself with my husband being gone 50% of the time.”
However, she gets her hubby full-time half the year, and you can often find the Fryes frequenting the zoo or going on trips. She says her man calls himself a nerd, and the duo often face off over video games. But the Suns athlete still knows how to woo his lady; Lauren says her V-Day dinner was quite a treat.
“He brought me to Posh in Scottsdale—we had a seven course meal! He knows how to keep the spark alive.”
Lauren says life has never been so good, and is grateful she has things a little easier than her own mother did.
“My mom was a single mom going to school and supporting me. I don’t know how she did it; she’s incredible. I will never understand or appreciate enough what she did for me.”
Lauren plans on being an understanding mom; having mutual respect for her children (yes, she wants more!) and instilling in them independence and a free-thinking spirit.
And for the record, her baby is already being trained on becoming a basketball star. Dad got Hendrix a mini-hoop and hopes his son will eventually follow in his sunny footsteps.
